How does Multicote work

Unlike other fertilizers, Multicote enables a slow and controlled release of nutrients from the soil. This is because the fertilizer granules are encapsulated in a permeable polymer. This coverage has two functions: on the one hand it prevents the immediate dissolution of the nutrients when making contact with moisture in the soil, but at the same time enables a process of gradual dissolution that accompanies the growth of the plant. This technology provides the plant nutrients according to its development.

Step by step

Water-soluble nutrients are within the polymeric cover.

Once applied, Multicote slowly starts to permeate moisture inside of the cover. Then the nutrients begin to dissolve.

The dissolved nutrients pass through the polymer to the outside and come in contact with the root of the plant. The soil temperature determines the speed at which the fertilizer disperses; the more heat, the greater the dissemination, since the plant increases its hydration requirements. Other factors, such as the characteristics of the soil and microbial action do not affect the releasing process.

The process continues until the nutrient granules are finished. Then the cover degrades and is absorbed into the soil, leaving no residues.
